By Pamodi WaravitaNearly all of the approximately 650 patients receiving long-term care at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) have been partially vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus, with the NIMH having also requested vaccine stocks for those who require repeated admission to care facilities at said hospital, The Morning learnt. “Most of the 650 patients receiving long-term care facilities have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine. We conduct a PCR test and then isolate the patient for 48 hours until the results are obtained. Afterwards, we do not allow them to mix with the other patients until seven days have passed,” noted Dr. Ranasinghe. On Tuesday (20), 1,487 new patients were identified and 43 deaths were reported as a result of the virus.
