French club Clermont Auvergne has announced the signing of All Blacks centre George Moala to a three-year deal. Moala is set to play out the 2018 Super Rugby season with the Blues before heading to Clermont, where he will link up with former All Black Isaia Toeava and ex-Chiefs loose forward Fritz Lee. Clermont won the Top 14 championship in 2016-17 but have been plagued by injury this season. They sit ninth in the standings after 12 matches, although are four from four in the European Cup.
