Ali Riaz, special assistant to the chief advisor with the rank of advisor, has been appointed chief coordinator for public awareness campaigns on the parliamentary polls and referendum. The appointment was confirmed on Wednesday in a letter signed by Mohammad Abdul Wadud Chowdhury, director general (Administration) of the chief advisor’s office. The government has rolled out several programmes aimed at informing citizens about the election process and referendum. After the formation of the interim government, Riaz first served as head of the Constitutional Reform Commission. Upon the conclusion of the commission’s mandate, Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus brought Riaz into his administration as a special assistant.
