President Akufo-Addo ordered the dissolution of the old board following an impasse between its members and the Chief Executive of the company, Madam Frances Essiam. The former Upper West Regional Chairman for the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP),Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Abubakar popularly known as Alhaji Short is the chairman of the reconstituted Board of the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company Limited (GCMC). Alhaji Short was one of the NPP National Chairman hopefuls, but pulled out from the contest and joined the campaign of current Chairman of NPP Mr. Freddie Blay. Meanwhile the new board said it’ll work in harmony with management of the company.
