Politics of Friday, 27 February 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comAlhaji Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey, an Ashanti Regional Communications Director hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has alleged that some members of the party secretly supported President John Dramani Mahama during the 2024 general election against former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia. According to him, Dr Bawumia, who contested on the ticket of the NPP, was deliberately targeted by certain individuals within the party to lose the election. Speaking in an interview shared on social media, Brobbey raised significant concerns about the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 elections, alleging that internal saboteurs played a crucial role in undermining the party’s campaign efforts. “…there is also a gentleman on social media claiming that some NPP members financially supported Mahama to contest Bawumia,” he said. Dr Bawumia ultimately lost the 2024 presidential election to President John Dramani Mahama.
