The uncertainty over Amorim’s future – and his eventual dismissal – meant signing high-profile players was never a realistic prospect in January. However, with the team going from strength to strength under interim boss Michael Carrick, attentions are beginning to turn towards the summer transfer window. Though Mac Allister is contracted to Liverpool until 2028, there have been suggestions that the Argentine could have his head turned should the right opportunity present itself. Mac Allister has made 132 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool since signing for the Reds from Brighton in 2023.
