The World Anti-Doping Agency voted Monday to ban Russia from major international sporting events for the next four years. ADOn Monday, Ovechkin said he watched the 2018 Games but didn’t pay much attention to the restrictions that were imposed involving Russian athletes competing under a neutral flag. Hosting the 2014 Games in Sochi, Russia again lost in the quarterfinals, this time to Finland. After winning the Stanley Cup in 2018, Ovechkin is missing only an Olympic medal on his résumé. AD“Obviously, it’s sad news, but I think [we are] going to have more information later,” Ovechkin said of the four-year ban.
