McLeish previously managed Scotland in 2007, when they narrowly missed out on qualification for Euro 2008. He left the position after less than a year in charge to take over as Birmingham City manager. On Tuesday the 59-year-old was installed as the odds-on favourite to be the man to replace his former Scotland and Aberdeen team-mate Gordon Strachan as the new national manager. Scotland play Costa Rica at Hampden on March 23 before an away game against Hungary four days later.
