Jones’ lawyers asked U.S. Judge Christopher Lopez to move his Chapter 11 bankruptcy to Chapter 7 liquidation, which would streamline efforts to sell off Jones’ personal assets. AdvertisementJones filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2022 after he was ordered to pay roughly $1.5 billion in damages to the families he defamed over the course of a decade on his conspiracy program. As part of Chapter 7, a court-appointed trustee would be assigned to liquidate Jones’ assets, including his stake in his Infowars media empire. Days before the latest filing, Jones took to Infowars to whine about liquidating his assets.
