Alex Jones Moves To Liquidate Assets To Start Paying Sandy Hook Families

LOADING ERROR LOADINGConspiracy theorist Alex Jones has made steps to liquidate his personal assets in order to begin paying damages to the relatives of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims, whom he defamed for years. Jones’ lawyers asked U.S. Judge Christopher Lopez to move his Chapter 11 bankruptcy to Chapter 7 liquidation, which would streamline efforts to sell off Jones’ personal assets. AdvertisementJones filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2022 after he was ordered to pay roughly $1.5 billion in damages to the families he defamed over the course of a decade on his conspiracy program. As part of Chapter 7, a court-appointed trustee would be assigned to liquidate Jones’ assets, including his stake in his Infowars media empire.
