Men turning violent after consuming alcohol is contributing toward the majority of family harm incidents in Tokoroa (file photo). People turning to alcohol to manage stress is causing family harm to skyrocket in Tokoroa. Over the December/January period family harm Sergeant Murray Hamilton said police responded to about 200 family harm incidents with alcohol playing a part in most. "If it turns out to be nothing that is fine but no one has to put up with family harm." He said his team was working hard to prevent family harm from occurring in the first place.
