Delivereasy director Nick Foster says his company is bracing for a major surge in business when the lockdown is eased. Food cannot be delivered from restaurants and takeaway outlets under the level 4 Covid-19 lockdown, but alcohol can – and demand has shot through the roof around the country, one delivery company says. “As soon as it was announced on Tuesday night (liquor) orders right across the board started rising,” Nick Foster of Delivereasy said. “People are battening down the hatches for a few days.”Liquor stores took orders, prepared them, and they were then picked up for delivery by Delivereasy drivers. Customers pay Delivereasy via an app which then deducts the delivery charge and pays liquor stores and restaurants.
