CALGARY—A group of Alberta missionaries in Haiti is being airlifted to the capital so they can leave the country amid more than a week of violent protests. This is the seventh day of protests against Haitian President Jovenel Moise and the misuse of the Petrocaribe fund. Haitians have been protesting for days demanding President Jovenel Moise’s resignation as the country deals with crippling inflation and the devaluation of their currency. Other Canadian tourists and aid workers have also been stuck in Haiti as protests block their path to the airport.
