Alberta College of Art and Design teeters on 'verge of unsustainability,' report warns

An internal report for the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary paints a bleak picture of the school's future, saying changes need to be made if the school is to remain financially sound. CBC News obtained a copy of the report, which says, "despite its past and current record of achievement, the institution is on the verge of unsustainability." Third year ACAD student Caleb Scholes told CBC News the criticisms made in the report do not surprise her. The school received more than $15 million in provincial funding in the 2015-6 school year, which is the most recent financial report the school has disclosed. "It all will depend on what the government comes out with as a process and methodology for tuition," Doz said.
