Albany Legislators Look for Deals as Deadline Looms for State Budget


New York lawmakers spent Thursday engaged in a flurry of last-minute budget negotiations and lobbying on a variety of issues, including congestion pricing to fund the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, public campaign financing and a reduction in the use of cash bail. Andrew Cuomo and members of the state’s two chambers are considering the measures as part of the pending state budget, which will total around $175 billion. It is due by Monday.
