The Balkan-inspired plot mirrored almost precisely the one which emerged during the case of Jamie "the Iceman" Stevenson. The National Crime Agency (NCA) estimates that 117 tonnes of cocaine-a-year is consumed in England, Scotland and Wales. It follows a recent trend which has seen major Albanian criminal figures leaving to settle in South America. As well as South America, the type of transport and the method of concealment, there was another link to the Albanian stash from Stevenson's plot. But like 68-year-old Bilsland who was replaced at Glasgow Fruit Markets Ltd., in December 2000, Agro Foods Ltd. unexpectedly changed its ownership and Petko Zhutev was appointed as its company director.
