Series of quality assurance issuesThere have been a series of quality assurance issues in recent months at Boeing and Spirit. Quality assurance is also known as quality control and, in Boeing-speak, “quality escapes” or “quality escapage.” In shorthand, these terms are “defects” in manufacturing or final assembly. And now, loose or missing bolts on the door plug appear to be responsible for its separation from AS 1282.
