The NLEX Road Warriors pulled off a resounding 94-74 win over the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the PBA Season 45 Philippine Cup at the Angeles University Foundation (AUF) Sports and Cultural Center in Angeles, Pampanga on Wednesday morning. Kevin Alas led the Road Warriors with 19 points off the bench, while Jericho Cruz registered 12 of his 17 points in the payoff period to help his side avoid falling behind further in the playoff race. The Road Warriors previously beat another giant team in the PBA bubble after it dealt league-leading TNT Tropang Giga its first loss last October 29. Rey Nambatac finished with 15 points for Rain or Shine, whose record slid to 4-2. Those victories practically ensured the inclusion of the Beermen and the Fuel Masters into the eight teams advancing to the quarterfinals following the 11-game eliminations.
