Al-Shabaab kills Djibouti soldier a day after raid on Ethiopian campMOGADISHU, Somalia - Al-Shabaab militants have yet again claimed to have raided Djiboutian army bases in Somalia, killing a peacekeeping mission soldier, in yet another attack targeting security forces in the Horn of Africa nation, which has struggled with instability for a couple of years. The overnight attack, Al-Shabaab claimed, also left one soldier seriously wounded besides destroying several artillery equipment used by the defense forces. Djiboutian troops serving in Somalia just like their colleagues in AMISOM have often come under attack from the Al-Shabaab which has been fighting to topple the fragile UN-backed Somalia administration. Similarly, the Somali National Army and those from the Kenya Defense Forces have often come under immense attacks from Al-Shabaab militants. The group targets security forces, top government officials, and at times, innocent civilians across East Africa.
