Despite losing the second leg match to Fath Union Sport in Morocco 3-1 in Morocco, Al-Ahli Tripoli managed to qualify for the groups round of the CAF Champions League, thanks to the goal scored by Anis Saltu. Al-Ahli qualified after it drew with the Moroccan team 3-3 on aggregation of the first and second leg matches.
