Speaking to the issue on Accra100.5FM’s mid-day news, Mr Akufo-Addo’s spokesperson, Mustapha Hamid, said his boss intended ensuring that the northern part of Ghana becomes the country’s food basket through the ‘1 village, 1 dam’ policy. “It has happened before under ‘Operation Feed Yourself’ in the Acheampong regime, so why can’t it be done again?” Mr Hamid asked. Mr Akufo-Addo’s latest promise comes on the back of his earlier ‘1 district, 1 factory’ promise which he made a few months ago. It was described as impossible by the governing National Democratic Congress.
