In a statement, Ako Bicol party-list sought the prompt relief of Peñalosa, lamenting that her incompetence and negligence resulted “in the loss of life and hope for many Daragueños.”“According to sources close to the slain legislator, PSupt. 1st Consumers Alliance for Rural Energy Inc. (1-CARE) party-list Rep. Carlos Roman Uybarreta and ACTS OFW party-list Rep. Aniceto “John” D. Bertiz III asked the law enforcement authorities to immediately run after Batocabe’s killers.
