The Akasha brothers have been living off the wealth their father left them and have never engaged in drug trafficking, their mother has said. Baktash and Ibrahim Akasha, and foreigners Vijay Goswami (Indian) and Hussein Shabakash (Pakistani) were secretly extradited to the US on Tuesday. The two are the sons of slain drug baron Ibrahim Akasha, who was killed in Amsterdam in 2000 by a gunman on a motorcycle. The four were charged upon arrival with "participating in a massive global drug trafficking enterprise that includes the leader of a well-known organised crime family in Africa".
