Investors will keenly watch out for the company’s comments on the impact of the current tariff war and the recent cut in the international termination charge. Companies in the telecom sector have been facing a brutal tariff war after the entry of Reliance Jio in September 2016 with six months of free services, followed by rock-bottom tariffs. Airtel has since recorded a fall in net profit for five straight quarters as it cut tariffs to take on Jio. The termination charge is payable by an international long-distance operator to the Indian telecom operator on whose network an overseas call terminates.
