Hong Kong airport is feeling the pinch as passenger numbers decline. Sing TaoBoth passenger traffic and cargo throughput at Hong Kong International Airport continued to drop in January, following a decline for the whole of 2019. Overall passenger traffic to and from the mainland, South Korea and Southeast Asia saw the most significant decreases. Among key trading regions, traffic to and from southeast Asia and North America fell most significantly. Vivian Cheung Kar-fay, executive director, Airport Operations of Airport Authority, said airport traffic was been affected by multiple factors, including the novel coronavirus outbreak and social circumstances.
