Airport customs officials suspended for inadequate communicationThe Hanoi Customs Department on Wednesday decided to temporarily suspend two employees of the customs sub-department at the Hanoi-based Noi Bai International Airport for having inadequate communication with passengers. Passengers are having luggage checked by customs officials at Noi Bai International Airport. Basing on the initial investigation, the department confirmed their violations, according to Deputy Head of the Hanoi Customs Department Tran Quoc Dinh. Định said the department will review and check the operation of all customs staff at Nội Bài Airport in the future. Customs officials at the airport have to handle procedures for more than 100 flights per day, resulting in pressure on officials, but also requiring them to have qualified professional and communication skills to handle the work overload, Dinh said.
