A brand new top-of-the-range plane has been sent back to its manufacturer after complaints it smells of "wet socks". Air Calédonie International (Aircalin) had grounded one of its two new Airbus A330neo aircraft for two weeks due to strange odours on board. So far engineers haven't located the odour, so the plane is being sent back to Airbus HQ in Toulouse, France for a thorough investigation. "A smell of wet sock, and has repeatedly inconvenienced crew members during the take-off and descent phases," he told AFP. Airbus spokesman Sean Lee told AFP that the company is "working on a solution to solve odour problems in the cabin of a small number of Airbus A330neo in service".
