The ship arrived at her home base of Portsmouth for the first time this morning after almost two months of sea trials. The aircraft carrier steered into the harbour just after 7am towed by tug boats. The prime minister hailed the ship as a symbol of the UK as a “great maritime nation”. “Britain can be proud of this ship and what it represents,” she said, while visiting onboard.
