"Airbus has consequently identified a significant number of A320 Family aircraft currently in-service which may be impacted." It has been reported that the software issue was identified after an incident involving a JetBlue flight from Cancun, Mexico, to Newark, New Jersey, on October 30. Airbus said that the software update for many planes would take 2 to 3 hours, but others would be affected for longer.
