According to AirVisual, Dhaka showed an average air quality index (AQI) score of 152 at 11:52am on Tuesday. The air quality was classified as "unhealthy" at the time. Thailand's Chiang Mai, Pakistan's Lahore, and India's Kolkata occupied the top three spots in the list of cities with worst air quality with AQI scores of 239, 175, and 169 respectively. The Department of Environment has also set national ambient air quality standards for these pollutants. Air quality further declines during the dry months -- from October to April -- but improves during the monsoon.
