On the real-time rankings, Dhaka showed an average AQI score of 172 at 9:35am on Monday, according to AirVisual, which monitors global air quality. Dhaka's air quality was classified as "unhealthy." Residential areas like Baridhara, Gulshan 2, and Bashundhara showed AQI scores of 170, 173, and 181 respectively. The Department of Environment has also set national ambient air quality standards for these pollutants. Air quality further declines during the dry months -- from October to April -- but improves during the monsoon.
