Air Transat flight attendants set to vote on new deal

MONTREAL—The union representing Air Transat flight attendants says they will vote on a new agreement in the coming weeks. No details of the proposed deal will be released until after the 1,750 flight attendants vote on the tentative agreement between the Montreal-based company and the Canadian Union of Public Employees. Air Transat declined to comment on the union’s assertion. A spokeswoman for the Air Transat Component of CUPE said the workers had planned to strike if no deal was reached by Friday at 11:59 p.m. The flight attendants earlier voted 93.2 per cent against an earlier tentative settlement reached on June 6, just days after they voted in favour of a strike mandate.
