Airport fire crews and other first responders were placed on standby at Christchurch Airport ahead of the landing. The flight, which was an A320 airbus travelling from Dunedin to Wellington, landed safely shortly before noon on Monday, an Air New Zealand spokeswoman said. A Christchurch Airport spokeswoman said the airport was notified of the issue on Monday morning.
