Air Force, Navy: First responders vs COVID-19 in the air, at sea


ADVERTISEMENTAt the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippine Air Force and Navy have been heavily using their planes and ships. The PAF’s medium lift transport plane, the C-295, has logged 178 sorties and transported over 150,000 lbs of cargo. The Philippine Navy recently hauled medical supplies from China using its logistics vessel BRP Bacolod City. The ships BRP Tausug, BRP, Batak, BRP Agta, BRP Manobo, and BRP Subanon are also on standby for possible deployment. A total of 27,066 AFP men are currently deployed to perform different roles in the war on COVID-19.
