Aiden Markram, the South Africa skipper was fined 20 percent of his match fee while the rest of the players were fined 10 percent for maintaining a slow over-rate during the team’s five-wicket win against India in Johannesburg on Saturday. Markram and the rest of the South Africa players were guilty of breaching Article 2.5.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Players Support Personnel, which relates to minor over-rate offences. If South Africa commit another minor over-rate breach in an ODI within 12 months of this offence with Markram as captain, it will be deemed a second offence by Markram and he will face a suspension. South Africa stayed alive in the six-match ODI series with a wonderful display in the Pink ODI in Johannesburg. The next ODI is on Tuesday at Port Elizabeth and South Africa, trailing the series 1-3, will be determined to stay alive.
