Aidan O’Brien’s Magna Grecia unlikely to make Royal Ascot

Aidan O’Brien has indicated his English 2,000 Guineas winner Magna Grecia probably won’t recover from injury in time to run at Royal Ascot next week. After his Newmarket classic success Magna Grecia proved a bitter disappointment when out of the money in the Irish Guineas at the Curragh. Before next week’s Royal Ascot action, O’Brien may try to maintain his impressive 2019 classic tempo in this Sunday’s French Oaks at Chantilly. Hermosa won the 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh under Ryan Moore. It is Aidan O’Brien who has been installed a red-hot 4-7 favourite to again land the leading trainer award at next week’s Royal Ascot extravaganza.
