KOTA KINABALU: Star Foundation has presented RM42,000 to Hopes Malaysia to finance the upgrading of the piped water system in a rural village in Kota Belud. Hopes Malaysia, which is based in Sabah, focuses on community development projects to meet basic needs of underprivileged rural communities. Kampung Podos is one of five villages in Kota Belud identified by Hopes Malaysia for its gravity water programmes for this year’s batch estimated to cost around RM150,000. “Same thing for Kampung Podos. The Star Sabah bureau chief Muguntan Vanar presented a mock cheque to Hopes Malaysia officials yesterday at the bureau office here.
