PETALING JAYA: Datuk Ahmad Maslan (pic) wants action taken against those who spread lies over a remark on fuel prices he is alleged to have made. The viral message, which bore Ahmad's photograph and was circulated on social media, claimed that the Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister had said that the Government increased fuel prices to reduce road accidents. "I will inform the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to take action against those that spread this slander," Ahmad said on Twitter on Friday (Nov 17). Why would I want to talk about the fuel prices when it is not even under MITI (Ministry of International Trade and Industry)," he said. Ahmad added that fuel prices in Malaysia followed world oil prices and the Government was not involved in raising or lowering these prices.
