With Union railway minister Suresh Prabhu slated to visit the Chandigarh railway station on Sunday, the railway authorities on Saturday restricted traffic movement in front of the main entrance and blocked the exit point. The Union railway minister will lay the foundation of additional traffic facilities at the Chandigarh railway station. These are 81-km Jind-Sonipat railway line, platform number 4/5, foot overbridge at the Sonepat railway station, diesel multiple unit etc. Labourers, masons and technicians were seen sprucing up the railway station at the last moment on Saturday. Chandigarh station will get additional facilities.
