Highlights 1 Goods and Services Tax (GST) will hit the market on July 1. A trader involved in the electronic goods business for the past 10 years, Ankur Dawar, said that he hasn't seen his business drop this low. According to Dawar, demonetisation has had some impact but now with the pre-GST sales, his business has not flourished. Plastics and stainless steel fall under the 5 per cent slab, thermos and glasswear under 12 per cent slab, pressure cookers under 18 per cent slab and electronics under 28 per cent slab. However, speaking on the pre and post GST sales, Hasan said that it is just a marketing gimmick for traders to raise sales.
