The Department of Agriculture (DA) said it would study the country’s vegetable consumption to ensure proportional supply distribution and identify commodities for export. The study also aims to name vegetable production areas in the country, which the DA must focus on with regard to allocating funds to help farmers bring down production cost, he added. Once completed, Pinol said the study will be used by the DA to craft a five-year vegetable Production Master Plan. of which are for vegetable production. Piñol was quick to add, however, that the DA is doing its best to help farmers in typhoon-hit areas.
