Teachers' unions have agreed that special classes in secondary schools should resume later this month. Members of the Teachers Union of Ireland (TUI) decided this evening that they would facilitate the re-opening of special classes in Post-Primary schools on February 22. A subsequent statement issued by the Association of Secondary Teachers, Ireland (ASTI) that its members "will co-operate with the return of special education classes from February 22". It comes as special education schools will begin to reopen from tomorrow, while special classes in primary schools are also due to return from February 22.
