After debuting at the U.S. box office on Tuesday with $1.52 million in preview screening grosses, the picture has nearly completely disappeared, taking in just $44,600 on Thursday, a whopping 97 percent decline in just two days. The heart-stopping plunge came after the picture had fallen by 89 percent on Wednesday to $161,260, according to figures from the box office research authority Rentrak. Also a Telugu-language picture, Spyder picked up $1 million on its opening Tuesday, and proceeded to collapse by 95 percent to $46,326 on Thursday. Upon viewing Agnyaathavaasi, Salle said that the Indian film was a straight copy of his 2008 French picture The Heir Apparent: Largo Winch.
