(Christian Petersen/Getty Images)The Patriots continued their aggressive offseason Friday, acquiring wide receiver Brandin Cooks in a trade from the Saints. Following that triumph, the team’s fifth championship under head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady, it has hardly rested on it laurels, with the Cooks trade becoming just the latest high-profile move this week. In Cooks, New England has a remedy for one of its few offensive weaknesses: a lack of speed. New Orleans had also acquired wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. in free agency, giving them a deep threat to replace Cooks. As of right now, after all of their dealing, the Patriots won’t pick in next month’s draft until the third round, 72nd overall.
