Police said the body of Preecha Lertloipanyachai, 71, was found by scuba divers after a five-hour combing of the bed of the Sampathuan Fishing Pond in Moo 4 village in Tambon Sampathuan in Nakhon Chaisri district. The manager of the fishing pond, Chatree Sompong, alerted Nakhon Chaisri Police Station after Preecha disappeared from his fishing spot where he was last seen at 8am on Friday. When the manager checked footage from a security camera at the spot, he found Preecha’s fishing rod was being pulled into the pond and in trying to prevent it Preecha had fallen into the water. After seeing the footage, Preecha’s daughter, Sutthasinee Lawanwisut, 38, said she had no suspicions about the cause of his death and it was also clear that he had not committed suicide. Preecha checked into the fishing pond, which is also a resort, at 4pm on Thursday and started fishing at 8am.
