Whether it was the Raptors effect or just embarrassment for the city, staff will now stop removing rims from city basketball courts before the end of the day, city spokesperson Brad Ross confirmed Thursday. Ross told the Star rims were only removed due to noise complaints. He also noted the city has no jurisdiction over the courts on school board property. School board officials scrapped the relocation plan triggered by neighbour noise complaints.
