We are at the point in the pandemic where life in this once smooth-flowing, highly organized country has not just slowed but functions only haltingly. Could doctors keep at least 25 per cent of those crucial surgeries going and let unvaccinated COVID-19 patients wait longer to reach the ICU? It’s not deliberate or malicious; good people are doing the best they can and their best is inadequate. I don’t care. I now know my line in the snow, the one thing I won’t tolerate, worldwide pandemic catastrophe or not.
