I’m referring instead to the candidate’s ill-advised tweet about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and the disastrous TV interview that followed. MacKay isn’t a political novice. Canadians actually know who he is — which is arguably half the battle in politics (according to a new Ipsos poll of 1000 Canadians, MacKay topped the list of Conservative leaders respondents would consider voting for in the next federal election.)
