Bengaluru: Five Ethiopian children underwent successful Open Heart Surgery at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Bangalore recently. For several years, children from East African Nation were waiting for the arrival of Foreign Surgical Team in Addis Ababa which has some centers with facility to do Open Heart Surgery. While these complex heart surgeries are routinely performed at Jayadeva Hospital, according to Dr P K Sunil, who performed the surgeries. In turn they contacted Jayadeva Hospital and mailed all the medical reports of the children for further advice and treatment, said Dr Ravindranath. The parents of these children whole heartedly thanked the Karnataka Government and the Director of Jayadeva Dr K S Ravindranath for the surgery.
