After outbreak in China, US confirms first case of coronavirus


The United States Centre for disease control on Tuesday confirmed the first case of coronavirus in the country which claimed the lives of six people in Asia. There have been over 400 confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), including nine deaths, with all of them imported from Wuhan city China, health authorities there stated. Many major international airports in India as well as in other countries have issued an alert regarding novel coronavirus, with passengers arriving from China, including Hong Kong, to be screened on arrival. "The Emergency Committee on the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) will ascertain whether the outbreak constitutes a public health emergency of international concern, and what recommendations should be made to manage it," WHO said. Four countries have reported to the WHO confirmed cases with most for China, one case each in Japan and South Korea and two case in Thailand with all of them imported from Wuhan.
