Gujarat Congress MLAs in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi during their visit to the Karnataka assembly in Bengaluru on Saturday. Paresh Dhanani, one of the legislators, had said on Sunday that they would be reaching Gujarat on Monday morning. At least 40 legislators from the Congress party were residing in Eagleton golf resort, outside Bengaluru, since 29 July, amid fears that they may be poached by rival Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). While in Bengaluru, the legislators met with Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president G. Parameshwara and other senior leaders. The state unit had organised talks, orientation programmes and other activities to keep the legislators engaged during their time at the resort.
